The project to build Bach Dang bridge, the approach road and the intersection at the end of the route to complete the route connecting Ha Long city with the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway. Connecting the economic triangle of Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh, reducing traffic load for National Highway 18 and National Highway 10, shortening traffic time from Hanoi to Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, attracting investment capital and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province as well as the northern key economic region.
The main cable-stayed bridge of Bach Dang bridge has 4 continuous cable-stayed spans and 3 towers. The bridge structure with more than 4 continuous cable-stayed spans is quite special in the world. In addition, due to the requirements of navigation and flight safety, the tower of Bach Dang bridge will have a special structure different from the usual.
